PICK YOUR WEEK — OR BOTH

Two Weeks. Two Completely Different Adventures.

Each camp is one week, Monday through Friday, with just 12 spots. The themes don't overlap, so learners who join both weeks get two completely different experiences.

Art & Games Week

July 12-16 · 12 spots · $320

Two art challenges a day, a daily dive into art history, and team games that take real strategy. Learners meet the artists who broke the rules — then try their techniques for themselves.

Writer's Workshop this week: Every masterpiece needs a name and a story. Learners title their artwork with powerful new vocabulary words, write the story behind each piece, and stretch their imaginations with art-themed Mad Libs and creative writing prompts.

Robotics & Legos Week

July 19-23 · 12 spots · $320

Build it, test it, break it, fix it. Learners take on robotics builds and Lego engineering challenges every day, then put their math to work in a daily Lego and robot math competition — estimating, measuring, and problem-solving against the clock.

Writer's Workshop this week: Real engineers write, too. Learners draft an owner’s manual for an imaginary robot, pitch their Lego build to a “real estate developer” in 100 words or fewer, write about the robot who just moved in next door, and tackle dictionary-powered Mad Libs.

Deep, Project-Based Fun. Real Academic Muscle.

Discovery Camps aren't school with a theme slapped on. Every day is built around the week's projects — and the academics are woven right into them.

Writer's Workshop, Every Day

A guided workshop with a specific writing challenge and real instruction each day, built around the week's theme — so learners write about what they're actually making.

Reading, Every Day

Protected time with books from our library, so the summer reading habit doesn't slip.

Art History or Creative Math

Art & Games Week digs into the artists behind the movements. Robotics & Legos Week turns math into a daily team competition.

Learner-Driven, Like Our School

A daily Socratic Launch, team challenges, real choices, and Guides who ask questions instead of handing out answers.

A DAY AT DISCOVERY CAMP

8:50–9:20 · Tribe/Outdoor Games — Team & board games that build trust, communication, and critical thinking.

9:20–10:05 · Art & Games: Team Games · Robotics & Legos: Robotics Build & Challenge

10:05–10:20 · Snack/ Outdoor Play — Refuel and get some fresh air.

10:20–11:05 · Art & Games: Art Challenge · Robotics & Legos: Lego Challenge

11:05–11:50 · Writer's Workshop & Reading — A guided writing challenge tied to the week's theme, plus time with books from our library.

11:50–12:20 · Lunch/ Outdoor Play— Good food, good conversation, then back outside.

12:20–1:05 · Maker's Space — Real tools, real materials, and the freedom to try, fail, and build again.

1:05–1:50 · Art & Games: Art History · Robotics & Legos: Lego & Robot Math Competition

1:50–2:35 · Art & Games: Game Creation · Robotics & Legos: Robotics Build & Challenge

2:35–3:15 · Art & Games: Art You Can Eat · Robotics & Legos: Lego Challenge

3:15–3:30 · Close — Learners care for the studio together, then reflect: What did I make? What was hard? What am I proud of?

No homework. No busy work. Just a full week of building, creating, and thinking hard.

Questions Parents Ask

Is this a Fun camp or Academic Camp?

Both — and that's the point. Most of the day is hands-on projects, games, and building. About 90 minutes a day go to Writer's Workshop, reading, and art history or math competitions, woven into the theme so it never feels like a chore.

Can my child do both weeks?

Yes. The themes don't overlap, so learners who join both weeks get two completely different experiences.

Does my child need art or robotics experience?

No. Challenges are designed so beginners and experienced builders both have somewhere to go next.

Is it only for Apollo families?

No. Discovery Camps are open to any learner ages 8–11. It's also a great way to experience learner-driven education if you're curious about Apollo year-round.

Who leads the day?

Our Discovery Guides. We don't call them teachers — a Guide's job isn't to hand over answers but to ask the questions that help learners discover them.

Give them a week they’ll talk about all year.
