With our daughter, Emilia, we are always looking for local family adventures. We love getting out of the house and exploring the world through her eyes. Here's a few of our favorites:
With a huge variety of food options, we always try a few spots at Armature Works. We love Zukka Sushi and Graze 1910 and you can't miss a local craft ice cream from Astro Ice Cream Co. Be sure to check out the calendar for upcoming events like yoga on the lawn, live music and fireworks. We always have a kid-friend outing that we enjoy too!
If your learner is interested in marine life, the Florida Aquarium would be an excellent adventure to pursue their interest! With a wild dolphin cruise, splash pad and over 9,000 animals on-site, the aquarium offers a full-day family adventure. Emilia's favorites are the sea turtles and sting rays. If this is going to be a regular outing, check out the membership options too.
Anderson Playground in Hyde Park | 821 S Rome Ave
For free, outdoor family adventures, Anderson Playground is one of our favorites. With trails, swings, picnic areas and playground equipment, there is plenty to keep your learner entertained and get some energy out. Don't miss the free splash pad surrounded by lion sculptures to cool off on hot summer day. There's also great cafes close by for a snack or coffee - we like The Hyppo for gourmet popsicles or Buddy Brew for a caffeine fix.
For your aspiring farmer or gardener, Meacham Urban Farm is a great spot to put on you radar. They grow 35 different fruits and vegetables on 2 acres of land in the middle of Tampa. You can taste food at the market, opt for their community supported agriculture program or push yourself to try new bites with the farmer's choice box. We always eat healthy after a visit to the farm and explore new recipes.
