Family Fall Fun Across Tampa Bay: What to do in October

Sep 30, 2021
Events, Parenting, Resources

At Apollo Academy, we believe in serving beyond our students to their families in the spirit of creating a school where everyone has engagement and ownership. Sharing our favorite community resources is one way we do this, and this month, we’re sharing exciting events happening in October across Tampa Bay.

Making family connection time and spending time in our beautiful community are easy to do with the area’s many activity options. As the hot and humid summer days begin to welcome in the more comfortable fall temperatures, fall is the perfect time of year for locals to get out in their own backyard. So whether your family enjoys adventures, festivals, or holiday events, our Tampa community has plenty to offer by way of fall fun.

Here are some upcoming Tampa events we think will be great for getting your whole family in the fall spirit!

The Fall Pumpkin Festival runs Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am-9 pm and Sundays from 9 am-7 pm from September 25th-October 30. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to get post-worthy pictures of your kids among the pumpkins and other farm scenery. You’ll definitely want to mark your calendars for this event!

Riverwalk Trick or Treat

The Tampa Riverwalk is a beautiful place to spend a fall day in the sunshine and fresh air. The Riverwalk Trick or Treat event will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 4 pm–7 pm, and it is an entirely free community event. Children are invited to dress up and trick or treat with the over 50 treat and activity stations along the Riverwalk from Water Works Park to USF Park, including Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. And, as if that’s not enough fun, you can grab a bite to eat for dinner with the kids and stay in the area for the Halloween Lighted Boat Parade that will be making its way along the Hillsborough River later that evening.

We hope your child finds many reasons to smile as they enhance their curiosity through the community experiences they engage in this season. Learning extends well outside the walls of a school building, and we are proud to be part of the thriving and vibrant Tampa community that offers families so much to do. If you’d like more information about our dynamic school, we’d love for you to contact us so we can get to know your family!
